Important note – We’re in the process of building our first 2 “Bamburgh” campers, photos will be updated once they’re complete

The Bamburgh is our ‘Goldilocks’ adventure layout and the ultimate MWB Fixed Bed Campervan Conversion. Designed for adventure-driven couples who demand more than a day van, The Bamburgh features a bespoke, apartment-style layout, our Gold Electrical Package, and is built around CNC precision and premium workmanship for living the f***ing dream. No faff, just off-grid capability, pet.

It’s this MWB format, paired with the internal comfort, that makes The Bamburgh the most versatile MWB Fixed Bed Campervan Conversion we build.

Your home-on-wheels for couples, road trips and longer journeys.

The Bamburgh is all about comfortable, grown-up adventure. With swivel seats up front, a sociable bench behind the cab and a fixed rear bed, it creates a calm, apartment-style layout that works just as well for long weekends in the Lakes as it does for multi-week European trips.

The twin angled kitchen units sit between the lounge and bedroom, giving you a “proper” kitchen in the middle of the van rather than tucked away at the back. There’s room to cook real meals, stash your gear and settle in with a brew at the end of the day – without feeling like you’re living on top of each other.

The Bamburgh is ideal for couples who want to travel regularly, work remotely or chase mountain days and surf sessions, while still having a warm, tidy space to come back to when the adventures are done.

MWB Crafter/Sprinter/TGE Fixed Bed Bases

The Bamburgh is designed specifically for medium-wheelbase panel vans with rear bed pods, giving you a comfortable fixed bed without stealing too much living space.

It’s suitable for the following base vehicles:

MWB Mercedes Sprinter (with bed pods)
MWB VW Crafter (with bed pods)
MWB MAN TGE (with bed pods)

These vans offer a great balance of drivability, interior width and storage – perfect for couples who want something more capable than a small camper, but more manageable than a long-wheelbase bus.

You supply the base vehicle, but we’re always happy to help you choose the right one.

Seating

The Bamburgh is designed around a relaxed, sociable front lounge. As standard you’ll have three seats in the cab – a driver’s seat and double passenger bench – with the option to swap to two individual captain’s seats if you prefer a more open feel. Both front seats are fitted with swivels to bring them into the living space.

Behind the cab sits a fixed bench, creating a cosy “snug” where you can sit with a coffee, work on the road or eat together at the table. With the cab seats swivelled, the whole front half of the van becomes a comfortable living room that still feels connected to the kitchen and bedroom.

Upholstery can be tailored to your taste, – so the Bamburgh genuinely feels like your space.

Fixed Bed Layout for Adventure Couples

The Bamburgh is designed around the convenience of a proper MWB Fixed Bed Campervan Conversion — a 195 × 120 cm platform that stays made up permanently, giving you a calm, comfortable space to crawl into after long days on the road.
It’s wide enough for two adults to sleep well, without the faff of rearranging cushions or clearing the living area each night.

For small families or occasional guests, there’s an optional cab bed that stores neatly in the garage area and sets up quickly across the front seats when needed. It’s ideal for a child or smaller adult and keeps the main living space free so evenings don’t feel cramped.

No pop-top (unless you’d like one added), no fold-out mechanisms — just a simple, reliable sleeping setup that works beautifully for adventure-seeking couples and those bringing one small traveller along for the ride.

Shower & Water

The Bamburgh keeps things simple as standard, with a clean, reliable water setup that works exactly as an adventure-focused van should. Fresh and waste water containers are housed neatly within the main kitchen unit, making them easy to fill, clean and empty.

If you want a more seamless system, you can upgrade to underslung tanks — giving you increased capacity, quicker filling and a cleaner interior layout. This also opens the door to adding a hot-water system and a rear garage-mounted shower, ideal for rinsing off sandy feet, bikes, dogs or paddleboards after a long day out.

Whether you keep it simple or go for the full upgrade package, everything is installed with the same NC standards: tidy plumbing, quiet pumps, solid fixings and a setup built for real travel, not just show photos.

Kitchen

The Bamburgh’s kitchen is designed around proper cooking and everyday living, not just boiling the kettle.

In the centre of the van you’ll find two angled kitchen units facing each other. On one side is the main galley, housing a 50L compressor fridge, pull-out larder and induction-ready hob space.
Opposite, a second unit includes the sink, dedicated spice and small-item storage, plus a neat hideaway for the dining table when it’s not in use.
The angled ends of both units give the layout its distinctive look, softening the walkway and making the whole space feel more bespoke and “built-in” rather than boxy.

Solid-wood worktops, quality hardware and carefully planned lighting make the kitchen feel warm and practical – whether you’re throwing together a quick post-ride pasta or cooking a proper dinner on a rainy evening..

Storage

The Bamburgh has been designed to give you the right amount of storage without overwhelming the interior or eating into the living space. Because the kitchen runs down both sides of the van, you naturally gain a really practical mix of cupboards, drawers and hidden nooks that keep day-to-day essentials tidy and close to hand.

The angled units add more than just style — they create deeper, more usable storage zones for cookware, dry food, spices and travel gear, while still keeping the walkway open and comfortable. Overhead lockers give you space for clothes and softer items, and the rear “garage” beneath the fixed bed is ideal for the bulkier adventure kit: boots, tools, bags and weekend gear.

Everything is designed to feel simple, logical and easy to access, whether you’re heading off on a multi-week road trip or just escaping for the night. The Bamburgh makes it effortless to stay organised without sacrificing that open, airy feeling inside.

Electrics: The Gold Package Off-Grid System

The Bamburgh comes with our Gold electrical package as standard — a powerful, gas-free setup designed for long, adventure-filled travel.

It’s built around premium Victron components and a large Roamer lithium battery, giving you the confidence to stay off-grid for days at a time without compromising comfort.

Gas-Free: Heating & Reliability for MAN TGE 4×4 Adventures

The Bamburgh is built around a fully gas-free setup as standard, giving you a cleaner, lighter and more streamlined system that suits long-term travel and reduces general faff on the road. Removing gas also frees up valuable space in the layout — ideal in a mid-wheelbase van where every centimetre counts.

Heating comes from a 4kW Autoterm diesel heater, paired with the Comfort controller for simple, reliable temperature control. It warms the space quickly, keeps overnight temperatures stable and is powerful enough for year-round UK and European touring.

If you prefer extra home-style comfort, we can add a Bobil hot water system along with a garage-mounted external shower, perfect for rinsing off kit after hikes, wild swims or muddy mountain days.

The result is a warm, easy-to-run setup that suits exactly what the Bamburgh is made for — adventure-driven couples and small families who want reliability without the complication of managing gas on board.

Everything that comes as standard with a full Bamburgh build.
