Welcome to our ultimate Campervan Conversion FAQ & guide. Planning a premium conversion involves many important decisions—from choosing the right base van to understanding our transparent process, lead times, pricing, and what happens after handover. We’ve pulled together honest answers to the questions we’re asked the most. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just drop us a message; we’re here to help you navigate the process with full transparency

Start by getting in touch via our enquiry form or email with a rough idea of your base van, how you’ll use the van (weekends, full-time, family trips, pets, bikes etc.) and whether you’re thinking Signature Build or fully bespoke. From there we’ll usually jump on a call, put together an initial spec and estimate, and then refine the details with you. When you’re happy, you’ll pay a booking fee to secure a build slot and we’ll confirm everything in writing along with our terms & conditions.

Our Signature Builds (Budle, Blagdon, Bamburgh, Otterburn) are refined layouts with set structures, clear pricing, and quicker decisions. A Bespoke Conversion is fully tailored — layout, cabinetry, finishes and features designed around how you travel.

Most customers bring their own van, but we occasionally sell completed Signature Builds. We’re happy to advise on choosing the right base vehicle, we can even put you in touch with our suppliers and give our feedback on any vans that you’ve found.

More than most actually! We pride ourselves on being able to work on most vehicles, recently we’ve tried to rain it in a little with out signatures (Transporter / Custom / Sprinter / Crafter / TGE / Boxer / Ducato / Relay) but in reality we’ve worked on a huge selection including Defenders, ex ambulances, Iveco Dailies, Splitscreen VW’s, VW LT35, Vivaros and much more!

A full bespoke conversion tends to take longer than a signature build. Typically a full bespoke takes 14-18 weeks, whilst a signature would be around 10-14 weeks – both depending on the complexity of the layout and finish selections.

Our current lead-time for full conversions is listed on our Process page and updated regularly.

We don’t currently offer in-house finance, but many customers use external finance providers or vehicle loans. If we are selling a fully converted campervan, we advertise these on sites which may offer finance options themselves. We can provide official quotes or invoices if required.

Yes — while the layout and structure remain fixed, you still choose finishes such as fabrics, colours, flooring, hardware, lighting style and more.

Yes — the Blagdon & Otterburn include a built-in shower, and we can install toilets (composting or cassette) across most layouts.

Yes! we’ve fitted many pop tops and work closely with a local manufacturer, we’ve been their “guinnie pig” in the past for new roof systems and we’ve even written instruction manuals for installing pop tops for their trade customers. We recommend fitting pop tops to our smallest signature build (The Budle) but we’ve fitted them to The Otterburn in the past, and many other vehicles

Yes — many of our customers live in their vans all year. Signature and bespoke builds can be tailored for heavy, year-round use

We provide three tiers — Standard, Silver, and Gold.
Our Gold package (most popular) supports gas-free systems, high-demand users, and off-grid living with high-quality Victron components.

We can offer other packages or individual part upgrades of course, we just kept the Bronze / Silver / Gold to make it a simple pricing structure with specs that work for most vans.

Yes — most of our customers are actually choosing gas-free systems.
Benefits include:
Reduced weight
Increased safety
No LPG refill points needed
Hobs can still be gas if preferred

We use Bobil Air or Bobil Hydronic systems. We moved away from a well-known gas heating system due to a high level of faults, the system we use is robust and individual parts can be replaced if required. It also gives a level of contingency (i.e if there’s an issue with diesel, they can heat water from a 230v electrical source)

We predominantly use the Autoterm Air Heater (2kw in smaller vans, 4kw in larger), this is powered by diesel which comes from the vehicles main tank. Although we also offer the Bobil Hydronic Heater (newest option)

For electric vehicles, we still have options though

Yes — we offer fixed-price installation work which is shown on Our Services page. We also offer partial conversions and upgrades, prices are shown on the same page

Of course! we’ve got a huge waiting room with sofas, desk, table & chairs and plenty of brochures to read! We have lightning fast WIFI and we’re based in a coastal town if you’d like to go for a wander or grab some fish & chips!

We don’t allow overnight guests though, although there is plenty of AIR BNB’s, a Parkdean site and some local camper parkups close by

We design all builds with weight in mind, most of our vehicles are designed to be driven on a B2 license (under 3500kg) by using lightweight materials and smart building techniques. However adding extras can of course add weight, so caution needs to be taken in some examples – An XLWB rear wheel drive with additional belted seats, shower, huge electrical spec, roofrack, ladder, wheel carrier, Offroad tyres, Additional storage with bullbars etc would likely be close to the limit or already overweight.

Vehicles can however have their weight uprated, a C1 license would be required for any vehicle over 3500kg

Generally no, due to compatibility and warranty risks.
Exceptions may be approved on a case-by-case basis.

We provide a 12-month warranty on our workmanship as standard.
All appliances are covered separately by manufacturer warranties.

We do however use an external warranty company which means if you have any issues whilst on your adventures, you can get in touch and arrange for a local workshop to carry out the repairs for you which saves you needing to come all the way back to us if youre at the other end of the country!. This warranty can be extended to 3 years

Ongoing support is included — from troubleshooting advice to optional annual checkups.
If anything crops up in the future, we’re only ever a message away.

In the first instance message us — we’ll help diagnose and advise remotely, and we’ll book you in for a repair if needed. We work closely with a select few converters (of similar conversions) in the UK, we can reach out to one of our friends in the trade if you’re closer to them than us and its not something repairable remotely.

If we arent available the external warranty company can be contacted for advice and to book a repair

Drop us a message — we’re always happy to chat vans.
