We're a family run business based in the North East of England (Morpeth, which is just north of Newcastle)

We convert standard panel vans in to beautiful, one off bespoke campervans with each one being built to suit its new owner – from a weekend warrior to a full time home!

Each build is completed in-house with all work *apart from upholstery* being carried out by our close team, that means everything from windows and skylights to full off grid electrical systems with all of the cabinetry in between.

We are currently looking for a full-time individual to join our team of 4. This will initially be a workshop assistant role with the goal of becoming a fully-fledged campervan converter. you'll responsible for the construction, installation, finishing, quality assurance, and function test of components and equipment installed in our camper conversions.

Applicant must have experience working with hand tools, power tools (track saw, table saw etc.), other shop equipment, and the ability to train on and implement new equipment. Broad mechanical and electrical knowledge, an acute attention to detail, and a positive attitude are required. Previous van conversion experience is not essential but many previous applicants have converted their own personal campervans. We're ideally looking for someone with a passion in campervans and vanlife in general - we see this as a career, not just a job.

• Knowledge and experience in carpentry is essential. Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems is desirable
• Experience in power tool operation (drills, saws, etc....)
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willingness to learn and complete tasks correctly

General:

• Meet schedule deadlines
• Perform detail cleaning of the interior & exterior or vehicles when required (all vehicles leave our workshop clean and ready for adventures)
• Cut and install insulation & sound deadening
• Metal removal & fitting of windows, skylights & elevating pop tops
• Building and constructing carpentry aspects to a high standard
• Perform finishing aspects such as painting, staining, oiling, tiling, angle edging and use of silicone
• Test systems in vehicle and verify proper operation
• Workshop cleaning
• Additional workshop duties as directed
• Knowledge of general construction practices
• Experience safely operating hand tools and power tools (table saw, circular saw,  chop saw, pneumatic nail gun, sanders, jig saw, spray adhesive, and other general shop tools)
• A basic understanding of computers, apps & smartphones / tablets
• Ability to use your own mobile device or a supplied tablet for our workshop management app (for parts & job progress tracking) 
• Read and understand production documentation: drawings, installation instructions, etc.
• Occasional sheep hearding / Lamb chasing

Mechanical:

• Install, diagnose, and repair mechanical components including appliances, roof fans, windows, solar panels and heaters
• Install roof racks, light bars, ladders, awnings etc.

Electrical:

• Install 12volt and 240volt systems including lights, sockets and appliances
• Install solar and charging systems

Plumbing:

• Install water plumbing system including water pump, hot water boiler, faucets, sink drains, plumbing and fittings, water tanks, drains and all other plumbing components​

•  Flexible working hours based on your own lifestyle after being competent in self-working. Initially to follow one of our staffs working scedule.
• A paid trial day or two will be required before hiring
• The hirer will be on a self employed basis for a small period (1-3 months) with the view to add them onto payroll after this time along with other company benefits

• Driving to the workshop is easy - just off the A1, north of Newcastle
• Located on a working farm within the stunning Northumberland countryside - the complete opposite of working in a industrial estate!
